Amazing Automobile Concepts

Geneva Concept Car Show

After reading about the car concept shows in Switzerland featuring stunning concept cars the world has ever seen, I am now officially wishing to go there…Naaah…not wishing — I am officially planning to go and check out the wild auto design houses there that produce some of the most extreme concept cars in the planet.

Known to be a neutral country, Switzerland even has no indigenous car maker. However, independent auto design houses all over the world has adopted this quaint European country, especially Geneva as their own home where they stage stunning concept car shows.

In the outset, yearly gatherings set spotlight on several of the most inventive concept cars the world has ever seen.

Pininfarina, which is based on Turin has invented a new approach on the fuel-cell and electric hybrid car in the Pininfarina Sintesi. Instead of designing the body around the automobile’s mechanicals, they built the drive package all over the interior and exterior shape. This resulted to one of the most spectacular 4-door sedans in the world.

A concept is not just characterized by adding stunning extras on the car’s exterior design. This is proven by the Fioravanti Hidra which has something more than a dazzling exterior. This concept looks futuristic but what’s astonishing about it is te absence of windshield wipers. What protects its interior from UV light and keeps its glass squeaky clean is a special coating that includes “nano dust.”

Giorgetto Giugiaro, considered among the grand masters of car design celebrates his 40th year in the business by showing off the Italdesign Giugiaro Quaranta, incorporating the Toyota Synergy Hybrid Drive system. This promises to be included in the list of fastest hybrids ever to run on earth. It boasts of a 155 mph top speed.

Aside from design houses, manufacturers also grace Switzerland’s concept car shows. One of them is Magna Steyr from nearby Austria which is known for producing BMW, Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Its diminutive offering is called MILA Alpin, a futuristic off-roader that can negotiate steep inclines of 45 degrees.

Extreme concepts at Geneva has been raised into a high art by Frank Rinderknecht. Their Lotus-Elise-based automobile called Rinspeed sQuba is a submersible show car with an electric drive that can negotiate both land and sea.

Now, who would not want to go to Geneva and check out this fanta-bulous display of high art, stately style and modern science merged in astonishing automobiles?

  3. Sorry amrut but we also do not know where you can join in order to design exteriors for automobiles, but am sure it would be in car manufacturer companies like Ford USA. We hope we can help you, but you see, we only blog about autos, auto shows and auto parts because of our interest in it – not really that we know much about how to gain employment in car manufacturer companies.
